Our history starts over fifty years ago. Our founder/owner, Robert Kaferle, always wanted to be a truck driver.
Out of high school, he went to work for the largest LTL company in Texas working on the dock loading an unloading trailers. When he turned twenty-one, he got his CDL and made a living driving until children came along. He transitioned to a large truckload carrier as a night and weekend dispatcher. Definity starting at the bottom! After eleven years, he left this company obtaining the level of Director of Northeast Operations.
He spent several years at various trucking companies doing everything from HR, Recruiting and Safety to Project management.
One day, the insurance industry called looking for a transportation veteran to evaluate risk for the Excess and Surplus portion of their billion dollar insurance portfolio.
After nine years of evaluating risk and assisting with developing safety programs, he decided to share his knowledge with those that may need assistance.
Today, our owner still has his CDL and current medical card. He volunteers to drive the local high school band to away games and competitions. He is a licensed Excess and Surplus insurance agent (TN - 3001084074)and holds the NATMI CDS (Certified Director of Safety) professional designation. He also currently serves on a advisory board at the TSA for Surface Transportation Security.
Our president started his career at 19-years old when he joined a local manufacturing company as an assembly line worker. Almost immediately he discovered three things, first, he had a knack for safety and identifying risks, second, he had a desire to operate equipment such as forklifts and such and third, he was good at training.
Within a year at his first company, he learned to drive a forklift, became a distribution supervisor, became a certified forklift instructor, joined the safety committee, and developed a forklift training process that was used by the entire company for over 20-years. In time, he became an operations manager with responsibilities for warehouses, raw material handling (HAZMAT), and trucking with terminals in five different states.
Over 30 plus years, our president’s career has taken him on different paths providing him with opportunities to use his skills in different ways, from asset management to safety management, to operations and distribution management, he has taken opportunities to help organizations improve performance, reduce cost, enhance safety, improve turn over, and become more financially sound. Eventually, he earned his MBA and attained the accreditations of CDS from NATMI and Safety Supervisor from TSI. He has acquired experience working with OSHA, MSHA, and DOT compliance. Eventually he was contacted by a large insurance provider and was offered an opportunity as a senior safety consultant. He filled this position for ten years.
Today, consulting is his passion, it is rewarding for him to help organizations reach their fullest potential. No matter if it is risk assessment, root cause analysis, process development, training, cost reduction, or management assistance, he can provide the assistance organizations need to become strong and successful.
